Author's Guidelines
Have you written (or are writing) something you think would fit into the "mission statement" described on the ECP Main Page? If so, drop us a line and tell us about it (and yourself). An email query is preferred, but a hard copy through the mail is fine also (include a SASE).
However, NO manuscripts should be sent without prior approval, and emails should not contain file attachments.
Because ECP is a small, new business, you should receive a reply within a week or two (unlike the two months a big publisher takes—if they reply at all). Of course, being small also means we must be very selective about what we publish. Two things to keep in mind for any author who expects to "strike it rich" by having a book published. The "regional" nature of our titles means that you won't see our titles on the Times Bestseller List. Also, ECP doesn't believe any book should be priced over $20. In a world dominated by television, the last thing we should be doing is discouraging people (especially young people) from reading by making books unaffordable.
This precludes us from publishing some types of books—such as large books several hundred pages long or "coffee table" books with many glossy photos. Please keep this in mind.
If you write ECP, but you don't get a reply within a month, let us know. (Things do get lost in the mail—and in cyberspace.)
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. ECP was started, in part, because of frustrations experienced when dealing with established publishing houses. So ECP strives to be as "author friendly" as possible.
Thank You.
